Here are a few commands that will help narrow the search:
1)site: (example: Site:www.yahoo.com) this will return the indexed pages of a www.yahoo.com.
2)link: (example: link:yahoo.com) will show back-links to www.yahoo.com
3)cache: (example: cache:yahoo.com) will return the last cached page of www.yahoo.com by the search engine.
4)related: (example related:yahoo.com) this will return websites similar to www.yahoo.com
5) inurl: searches for matches in URL, and will return with snippets with searched word or phrase highlighted in URLs.
6)intitle: searches for matched in title
7) filetype: returns certain type of file searched for (example filetype:ppt will return results with ppt files
8) define: used for getting the meaning of the word
9) info: this returns with the information about a website
